Thermo Scientific™ SureSTART™ 300 μL Glass Crimp-Top Vials with Fixed Insert (Level 3) are the premier choice for high-sensitivity LC-MS and GC-MS workflows when working with small sample volumes (<2 mL).
The fixed glass insert provides a total volume of 300 μL (0.3 mL) with a usable volume of 250 μL and a residual volume of ~4 μL. The vials deliver reproducible results and exceptional sample protection for demanding applications.
Made with high-purity clear or amber glass, these vials contain the lowest metal content, extractables, and leachables – critical for meeting US, EU, and JPN Pharmacopeia standards. Also ensures consistent sensitivity and selectivity across HRAM (high resolution accurate mass) instruments including Thermo Scientific™ LC and GC Orbitrap™ MS systems. During manufacture, the outer vial has a glass micro-insert precisely positioned inside and this is permanently fused to the base of the outer vial. This gives a 12 mm x 32 mm microvial with a capacity of 350 µL with a narrow reservoir with <10 µL capacity. A fixed insert vial removes the need to assemble a vial and insert prior to use.
Microvials are suitable for use when sample volume is limited or when you need to get maximum recovery from the vial. These vials allow small volumes to be sampled accurately by autosamplers with a recoverable volume of much less than 100 µL. High recovery, total recovery, and vials with fixed inserts are all classed as microvials.
