Sodium vinylsulfonate is a useful reagent (monomer) for the formation of poly(anionic) polymers and copolymers. It is employed as a basic brightener and leveling agent in nickel baths. It is also used as intermediate for organic synthesis, surfactant, pharmaceutical industry.
