Description

Enhances selective uptake of HDL-associated cholesteryl esters. Probucol, MP Biomedicals is an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and hypocholesterolemic agent. It is also an antihyperlipoproteinemic .

Probucol inhibits atherogenesis in genetically hypercholesterolemic rabbits (Watanabe) and attenuates ischemia/reperfusion-induced cardiomyocyte apoptosis.
