It acts as a ligand and form coordination complex such as dinitrato(N,N'-dimethyl-1,2-ethanediamine)copper(II) and dichloro(1,4-bis-(diphenyl phosphino)butane)-(1,2-ethylenediamine)ruthenium(II).
