Description

Menhaden Oil, refined

Menhaden oil is use as a control or to check sample for fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) analyses. It is rich in omega-3 fatty acids. When used to partially supplement a high-fat diet in diabetic rats, Menhaden oil improved end points for peripheral neuropathy by improving motor and sensory nerve conduction velocity. Decreased accumulation of fatty acids in rat livers was also demonstrated.
