KIMBLE™ KIMAX™ Specific Gravity Bottles, Pycnometer are precision borosilicate glass pycnometers for measuring and comparing liquid and solid densities. Each includes a side tube cap with vent, numbered flask body, and a Standard Taper 10/18 thermometer accurate to ±0.2°C.

  • Kimble™ KIMAX™ Specific Gravity Bottles, Pycnometer are used for measuring and comparing the densities or specific gravities of liquids and solids
  • Manufactured from 33 expansion, low extractable borosilicate glass conforming to USP Type I and ASTM E438, Type I, Class A requirements
  • Capacity is within 10% of nominal capacity etched on the flask
  • Conical body design provides maximum stability
  • Each flask body is numbered for ready identification
  • Standard Taper 5/12 side tube cap has a small vent near the top for air escape
  • Supplied with Standard Taper 10/18 thermometer with a range of 14 to 38°C in 0.2° increments, retested for accuracy within ±0.2°C
  • 15123R series thermometers are mercury-filled; 15123N series thermometers are non-mercury spirit-filled
  • 50mL size may be used to obtain the specific gravity of pigments per ASTM D153
