Applications
5-O-tert-Butyldimethylsilyl-2,3-O-isopropylidene-α,β-D-ribofuranose is used as a starting material for the preparation of N-benzyl alfa-L-manno aminocyclopentitol , 4-deoxy-N-benzyl-alfa-L-manno aminocyclopentitol and N-benzyl 6,7-di-epi-trehalamine using stereoselective allylation. It is also used in oligosaccharides.

Soluble in dichloromethane and ethyl acetate.

Incompatible with oxidizing agents.
