Description

Select and identify salmonellae (other than Salmonella typhi) fromfood, feed, water, and clinical samples with this diagnostic prepared media.

Select and identify salmonellae (other than Salmonella typhi) from food, feed, water, and clinical samples with Thermo Scientific™ Brilliant Green Agar (Modified) diagnostic medium. The modified formula provides improved inhibition of Escherichia coli and Proteus species. The medium has been widely assessed in Europe and has been used in ISO standards.

Brilliant Green Agar (Modified) provides greater inhibition of Escherichia coli and Proteus species than many other media formulations for the isolation of salmonellae. Growth of Pseudomonas species, whose colonies may resemble salmonellae on standard Brilliant Green Agar, are restricted, reducing confusion or extra work to confirm their identity. Inhibition of small numbers of salmonellae is absent from the modified formula1.
