Recombinant Protein

For maximum recovery please spin prior to use. Unless noted below, aliquots of the 5 μg, 10 μg and 20 μg sizes of kinase are not recommended as materials can be used in original packaging until exhausted. For larger sizes, the number of freeze/thaws may be reduced by preparing aliquots, aliquots below 20 μL are not recommended. Please never store a kinase diluted. If properly stored at -80C, this product is guaranteed for 6 months from date of purchase. Protein Form: Recombinant, Full Length Assay Entry: Biochemical phospho-specific activity (no antibody), Biochemical terbium phospho-specific activity, Biochemical binding/kinetic System Compatibility: LanthaScreen™ Antibody, LanthaScreen™ Substrate, Z'-LYTE™, Omnia™ Bulk Substrate.

AURKA (Aurora A) is a serine/threonine kinase that regulates mitosis by association in vivo with centrosomes. Overexpression of AURKA is observed in many types of cancer. Aurora A plays a role in cell cycle regulation during anaphase and/or telophase, in relation to the function of the centrosome/spindle pole region during chromosome segregation. Aurora A plays a key role during tumor development and progression and is overexpressed in many human cancers including breast, ovarian and colorectal. Aurora A is viewed as a potential target for anticancer drug treatment. Tissue specificity: Highly expressed in testis and weakly in skeletal muscle, thymus and spleen.
