Specialty Lab Glassware

Specialty Lab Glassware

Glass, because it is chemically and biologically inert and resistant to high temperatures, is an ideal material for the manufacture of glass beads, stopcocks and specialty glass labware. Unlike plastic, glass is much easier to sterilize, allowing glass labware to be reused. Glass beads, manufactured from borosilicate glass that is resistant to high temperatures and thermal shock, are resistant to liquid or vapor attack, while stopcocks manufactured from glass feature either a plastic plug that does not require grease for turning or a glass plug that does but is more effective for high vacuum work.
