Invitrogen™ Total Antioxidant Capacity (T-AOC) Colorimetric Assay Kit (ABTS, enzyme method)
Description
The Total Antioxidant Capacity (T-AOC) Colorimetric Assay Kit (ABTS, enzyme method) is a highly reliable and sensitive assay designed for the quantitative measurement of T-AOC in serum, plasma, cells, and other biological sample types. T-AOC refers to the overall ability of a biological sample to counteract oxidative stress by neutralizing reactive oxygen species (ROS) and other harmful free radicals. It represents the cumulative effect of both enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidants present in the sample.
The assay uses ABTS, which is oxidized to ABTS+ in solution. ABTS+ is measured at 414 or 734 nm and is proportional to the T-AOC in the sample.
